ASEAN 50th UB 2017

CALL FOR ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION

In the milestone of its 50th anniversary, ASEAN faces increasingly widespread challenges beyond Southeast Asia. The dynamics of international political issues could no longer be addressed normatively and politically, but also increasingly require a fact-based empirical study and simultaneously employs a multidisciplinary approach, as a more targeted policy-making ground.

In Southeast Asia, notable educational programs and consortia of ASEAN Studies have emerged as think-tanks for various state government policies, facilitating the integration of cooperation between parties, and bridging the mutual understanding among citizens. In regards to ASEAN Community takeoff in 2015, a momentum to further unifies the views and cooperation between parties is strengthened to harmonize diversity values.

Academic world is one of the significant institutions which produce epistemic communities and also expertise in science. The academics are capable to elaborate deeper in relations to the reality of Southeast Asian society. Universitas Brawijaya Malang realizes the importance of Southeast Asia in scientific studies which are already integrated into the curriculum and various ASEAN higher education standards. There have been several AUN-QA certified courses and its numbers in 2017 are expected to continue and grow along with the announcement of accreditation results. The university also fosters cooperation with universities in Southeast Asia, both at the faculty and university level, even up to the participation to the ASEAN Business Model.

To enrich the enthusiasm of academic study and exchange of best practices among Southeast Asian communities, Universitas Brawijaya with complete sustenance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, took the initiative to hold International Seminar and call for abstract/paper as a form of dedication to the progress of ASEAN Community. Universitas Brawijaya also hopes to invite all academics, government policymakers, executives, NGO workers, media workers and all concerned parties to discuss more about ASEAN insights, policies and practices in a forum and publications through a credible peer-review process.

1. All manuscripts should be written in good command of English. Please proofread before submitting.
2. Title of the manuscript consists of maximum 20 words.
3. Below the title, insert the name of the authors, starts from the main author to the next ones. Please remember to write the identity of corresponding author in the footnote.
4. Body of abstract should at least contain these elements :

a. Maximum 250 words at length
b. Research background or research motivation
c. Main research problem
d. Methodology used in solving the research problem
e. Current progress 
f. Expected Finding or hypotheses

5. Please insert 3 (three) to 5 (five) keywords
6. Please submit your abstract to the conference e-mail before the deadline.

All selected manuscripts from the peer review process will automatically be included in the abstract and full paper proceedings. To improve the credibility of Universitas Brawijaya's event and profile in the international academic world, it is necessary to cooperate and extend the journal cooperation and indexed by international publishing institutions.
